Servcorp, the world's leading serviced and virtual offices provider, celebrated its 15th year anniversary in China by fundraising for charities. Looking forward to 2014, Servcorp China is eager to continue its social responsibility initiatives by sponsoring a series of charitable activities to give back to the communities it serve.
Adhering to Servcorp's long history of practicing corporate social responsibilities across its global locations through partnership with local charity organizations, Servcorp China invited its clients, partners, and sponsors to fundraise during its annual Christmas party with the theme of “Casino Royale”. Attendees were able to enjoy games of Roulette and Blackjack while contributing to charity. Participants of said games received equal amount of poker chips equivalent to their donation, which could be used to play games and win sponsored prizes throughout the event.
This year, Servcorp China fundraised over 150,000RMB collectively from its clients, business partners, friends, and even family members abroad. 45,000RMB of the donation was given to support a Shanghai-based charity organization, “The Renewal Center”, to provide temporary shelter and shower service for homeless migrant workers seeking a better life. Furthermore, the Renewal Center provides employment opportunities for those displaced migrant workers able and qualified to work through partnerships with local businesses. This is the second year that Servcorp China has supported their efforts.
Servcorp also donated 70,000RMB to “Mifanmama”, a charity organization focus on supporting orphanages in China. Since its foundation in 2009, Mifanmama has provided basic necessities such as rice, fuel, clothing and health and educational services to needy orphanages all over China.
This donation will help the “Mifanmama” accomplish two key initiatives. Firstly, to support the “Shining Star” foster home which provides a sanctuary for vision impaired orphans who seldom receive adoption due to their handicap. The donation will allow adoption of three more such orphans. Secondly, the fund goes toward supporting the “Box of Love” project, an annual delivery of boxes of goodies and necessities to 20,000 underprivileged children during Chinese New Year.
Last but not least, 35,000RMB was raised from Servcorp (Chengdu) to support the SOS Children's Village in Chengdu, China.
“Servcorp (China) began actively participating in charitable activities since last year. We have raised a total of RMB 210,000 to date. We have expanded from supporting one charity organization last year to three this year. Thanks to the generosity of our clients across the country and full support of our partners and team members, we helped improve the lives of disabled orphans and displaced migrant workers. We sincerely hope to continue support for these charitable organizations in years to come,” said Michaela Julian, Senior Manager of Servcorp (China).
As partners of Servcorp, LE-TV and Wangjiu.com actively participated in the Christmas event as sponsors. Wangjiu.com donated wine from VIK chateau in Chile for the charity auction. And a 60-inch HDTV from LE-TV was donated as a prize to be won amongst many others during the event. Their philanthropic gifts earned many praises from the attendees of the Christmas event.
