NSW Premier to open Servcorp's Chengdu offices - Chengdu the world's "number one city to watch"

1 August 2012 | Servcorp

As part of his Trade and Investment mission to China NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell traveled to Chengdu on Wednesday 31st July 2012 to open Servcorp's newest location, Level 28 One Aerospace Center, Chengdu.

Chengdu, in China's Sichuan province, has been identified as a key emerging "Megacity" by the Economist Intelligence Unit, and one of China's top cities to invest in.  It was recently named the world's fastest growing city by Forbes, and is rapidly becoming the main finance and technology centre in China's southwest.

Servcorp is one of NSW's leading export success stories – “We're proud of the fact that we make opening a business in a new market really easy for businesses"  said Servcorp Director Taine Moufarrige “Chengdu currently presents incredible opportunities for NSW businesses” he said. Servcorp now has 12 centres in 6 cities throughout China, including Hong Kong.

"We believe this move will further strengthen the relationship between NSW and China.  The Chinese government has designated Chengdu as the country's western hub for commerce, finance and technology, which means that there is tremendous potential for NSW businesses who are seeking expansion opportunities” said Mr. Moufarrige.

One Aerospace Center, located in the heart of Chengdu CBD is a state of the art office tower with integrated business amenities and shopping arcade and is setting a new benchmark for commercial buildings in Chengdu, and across China. Servcorp is also located in Shangri-La development in the city, where the ceremony will take place.”

The boardroom in One Aerospace Centre will be named the "Waratah room" in honour of New South Wales and the Premier will present Servcorp with a plaque for the boardroom to mark the occasion.

The event was attended by NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell, Servcorp Director Taine Moufarrige, Servcorp General Manager Michaela Julian.

Michaela Julian, Servcorp Senior Manager, China says: "We welcome all businesses from NSW to come and visit us, tour the facilities and use the space.  Level 28, One Aerospace Center is a very comfortable place to work and an impressive setting to meet with clients and Chengdu is a market waiting for investment from innovators and exporters from New South Wales and Australia.”
